Ceramic Laser Bores

Since 1982, Stratamet has provided services specifically
for BeO Ion laser bores and related ceramic components.

Our services include the following:

  • Machining and metallizing of air and water cooled ceramic bores

  • Brazing of metal/ceramic bore assemblies

  • Fabrication of glass/ceramic bore assemblies including high power water cooled ion tubes.

BeO Bore Reclaim/ Rework

Because of the high cost of  BeO material and the inherent disposal problem, some of our customers find it valuable to reclaim the BeO ceramic for reuse in a new laser assembly. 

Complete reclaim restores the ceramic to its original properties and allows for its reuse at  substantially lower cost than new ceramic. 

Ceramic/metal hermetic laser components

Ceramic Bore Reclaim includes:

  • Autoclave stripping of metallic components and removal of glass components.

  • Re-machine of ceramic bore

  • Clean fire/anneal of ceramic bore

  • Re-metallize ceramic bores

  • Brazing of assembly with new metal components.
